Hi guys

I'm starting my domestic cleaning business in April and plan to use Ecover products.

Can anyone recommend the best place to buy them, tell me how effective they find them, etc?

We have used them at the customers request, they smell funny, and to be honest i dont think they are very effective.

Could you not buy a small sample of what you will be using from the supermarket, probably cheaper at tesco than any supplier, and test them out in your own house?

We find them next to useless but I would imagine that there is a market out there. There is a company in our town who operates an eco cleaning operation and have their own products but I have never once come up against them in competition.

hi, if you get a good supplier, could you post it on here,

i am thinking of marketing primary schools by april,  and i was going to sell it on "be kind to your children be kind to the enviroment"

what i will do is enfisise on the fact that thay can keep their schools clean using eco friendly chemicals,
which will not harm the children ie using chemicals that can bring on asthma and dermotitis, and also being a green school to put their parents at rest knowing that they are saving the planet,

i know it sounds a bit hippy but green sells these days, 

what do you think..

has anybody got any more ideas

They are ok to use on Marble, but that's your lot to be honest.

Thanks very much.  I'm going to buy some and use it at home first before deciding if this is the way to go, but its not looking hopeful!

There are plenty of effective eco products available from most cleaning suppliers which would also be much more cost effective for you.

are wanting to use eccover because they sound enviro friendly?

Have you considered Selden products they do a very good job and if you check their website they are eco friendly in both manufacture and use.

You can still be eco friendly it would just be a case of promoting the products as such rather than the relying on the products name to do that job for you.

Consider - poor products will either take longer to do the job and cost the customer more or not do the job to the customers satisfaction and either way you risk losing the customer!!

I do a lot of work for the National Trust and we have to use Ecover products.  The only one i find is excellent is the floor soap which is great for wooden and limestone floors.

we have a client who will only let us use enviro products ....floor soap is very good in the ecover range.  most super markets stock this type of product but we have found waitrose stock all ecover products.........very expensive and most of the stuff is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

I have a meeting tomorrow with a potential commercial client and due to the nature of their business they want us to use only eco products from renewable sources etc.  This is looking to be a largish daily clean contract, so I want to go in there with as much knowledge as possible.

I know all about Ecover products, their policies, effectiveness and costs and we also use products like Nemesis which I know can be used as an effective general cleaner.  However what other products are out there that have similar verifiable credentials to Ecover and Nemesis?
