I don't really bother with facebook for gaining customers.  They're like "Any1 now any cheep winda cleaners?" and I think "I'd rather not have you as a customer!"

I know that's an over-generalisation, but our best work doesn't come from faceache.

Ditto - the worst customers I've had originate from that dreadful site - and I'm not even on there.

Ooh, I am I forgot - I joined some god awful windowcleaning site frequented by a clown who sells poles and likes to swear a lot.

2 new customers from Facebook, one didn't answer the door after cleaning and the other said he had no money

I pay £1.00 a day for 5 days every month and I get about 3000people viewing the post and 200 people click it to read.
That for me is a lot better than leaflets.
The trick to find out whether the customers a messer or not is say " are you just looking for a good one off clean or do you want them cleaning monthly?"
Straight away you find out the messers

The way I use it for myself, it just heightens my profile and what I do.  Had a few enquiries etc, through following and being followed.  But the more people you follow, you get so many tweets, you dont actually read - I dont reply to anything, but I do get a bit more awareness of what the business does..  Its just another marketing tool.  Some of the enquiries I get from people are not on any forums....

I agree with Tosh & DW. There's a woman in Basingstoke that talks about paid for boosts on Facebook, but as far as I can see she only picks up one off gutter type jobs which isn't what I target at all. That said I do have a Facebook page of sorts.

Each to their own mate, I often get one off facia and conservatory jobs aswell but 90% i turn them into customers anyway so it's good.
Like I say it's all about wording your messages right to try and find out the messers from the good customers:)

Must admit 8weekly Ive had more enquiries from Twitter, but then I havent of late put myself out for more work, marketed myself etc.   If I were I think I would use any medium platform going, but would have to qualify every enquiry before I took it seriously
