Can you turn of the heat on a TM or is it all or nothing just thinking blood and certain fabrics  ???

You can't turn it off completely, but you can bleed water from the water box to keep a constant flow of cold running into it which prevents it from getting hot.

the other way is to flood by means of a jug or sprayer and extract with the truckmount. I always treat blood first before the truckmount heats up but if I come across at a later stage will flood by other means.

If you have a tm with a separate burner & not heat exchangers then you can turn it off & just have cold water !
