(CUSTOMERS WONT HAVE THE CHANGE, SO NO WFP)
Does that mean he is asked them all or was he bad at it, or can't afford to invest in it?

Seems like a part timer with no confidence that's had a go for a while and is now moveing on.

I actually know this guy, cleans in my street (my next door neighbour actually) and has done for about 8 months now. Abit cheeky really, it's abit like what platinum northwest used to do. Charges my neighbours a fiver a piece and wipes all the frames as well haha. He knows I'm a window cleaner but hasn't offered me the round.....wonder why  ;D

I quite agree mate, taking a £100 a day in this game is easily earned, compared to slogging it out in a warehouse for 8 hrs a day, upto 7 days a week, I can remember the real world before I started on the windows, would'nt go back, can't beat working for yourself  ;D

Although I have to say I would'nt touch that round either, daily takings too low  ;D

Brian.

I've got a lot of 5er jobs most easy got one all leaded though and bay window! Known lady all my life though so no biggy it's good to do a favour once in a while!
Used to have about 40 houses on a council estate, all priced £3.50 , and one of those houses had a extension with 2 extra windows!! Glad I don't do that now!

Yup! We've got short memories - I remember, trad.  in the late 1990's thinking that £80 a day was fine and £100 was very good.

You have to look at it in the context of it's area - Lancashire seems to be the home of the last of the luddites - the last area to give up steam locomotives and the last to give up trad and patches. And that's what they get ... custies who take advantage.

I reckon the guy should get about 3X for that. (£2000) It seems a genuine round. Some genuine redundancy merchant in his late fifties who wants to plod his way to retirement without getting under his wife's feet (until he falls from the ladder) might go for it.

It's a game of three halves!

I dont think a fiver a house is that bad round were i live but the thing is he has only been cleaning it about 8 months at most in my area and he only cleans 4 houses on my estate that probably has over 150 houses on. I wouldnt mind buying it but if you read, he has on average about £320 worth of work per fortnight spread out over wigan, st helens and newton le willow. He said the round has been going for a year and a half which i know it hasnt im my area at least and he wants 10x the fortnightly clean....dreamer imo

10 x the fortnightly clean = 5 x monthy clean

5 x monthly clean... how is he a dreamer?

Bit cheeky if he has only been cleaning them for 8 months and not a year n a half

i was taking £80 to a hundred pound a day trad in 1985.
How the hell can £100 per day be good money in 2012?
You gonna have no holidays, days off, bank holidays, sick days etc?
You dont pay tax?
You dont run a van?
You dont have expenses?
So tell me after grossing a oner a day, for x amount of days per year
minus tax and expenses
What the heck is you net after 52 weeks?
You lot really do sound like busy fools some of you

You gota look at the positive side.
up north living cost well rent/morgage is alot cheaper

the thing is cos of those prices the customers will never ever cancel ,

and work up north is in need at the moment as it always has been

a window cleaner with a bit of brains could employ someone pay them pretty much minium wage, or sub the work out belive it or not there will be people wanting to earn say £60 a day and really appreciate it ,that leaves £40 a day for the buyer i know its not as easy as that being let down by staff etc but it is doable and alot of people are subbing and hiring normally making the round owners alot more then £40 a day but money is money end of the day...,

after 6 cleans up the work by 20% i dont think many will complain even if you lose a few customers hourley rate will go up.

i would say its defo worth 2k-2.5k
