Microsplitters???
« on: May 01, 2011, 09:04:05 pm »
Hi!
What is  everyone's views on using microsplitters instead of regular pre sprays and extraction chemicals? any advise including method and ideas on brands etc would be much appreciated.

I find that used properly, i.e. pre-sprayed, agitated and left to dwell for long enough, M/S is my number one choice. However, there are certain situations where I find that M/S is not enough....This is where "Soluboost" comes in to play, added to my strong mixed of M Power....

Thanks!

So are you using the Solutions HD as a pre spray and then simply rinsing with fresh water? hot or cold?

Anyone else?

Although m power is my preferred Solutions product I do use HD quite a lot on say really dirty syntethics etc. Spray, agitate, this is important even if you are using only a carpet brush and rinse.I prefer hot water but have used cold on many occasions when no hot was available and could not see any difference in the end result. Perhaps drying times might be marginally faster with hot water but if you are using a good extraction machine drying times should not be a big issue.

Hi Guys

I use Prochem Pureclean which is the 'microsplitter' chemical.

You can then adjust your concentration as required.

These days I tend to use Powerburst, Formula 90 and Ultrapac plus a few others with Pureclean mainly on upholstery.

Cheers

We did an end of tenancy job last week, same synthetic carpet throughout and having bought the Solutions trial pack, thought we would have a go.

We first used Fusion 8 - hot, agitated and fresh water rinsed and it looked okay but the traffic areas were not great. We then re sprayed with HD - same method and it still didn't look great, so we made up some Powerburst and we started to see a difference within a minute of agitating it into the pile. The difference after rinsing was huge.

I appreciate that the microsplitters had done most of the work but they couldn't match the power of the big guns. We are going to play about with them however as we have not tried them with boosters.  and having read some other posts, there is lots that can be done.

I do find Chemspec DFC to be the best that I have tried so far though.

I have tried several microsplitters but am not impressed with any other than pure clean. Powerburst is my main prespray but I do use pure clean in some situations.

Various and numerous suppliers will sell microspliters.
Amtech, Restormate, Solutions Cornwall, Cleansmart just to name a few for starters.
