studded bar chairs
« on: February 10, 2011, 08:36:56 am »
Hi,
got some bar chairs to clean in a couple of weeks, and wondered how to clean keeping the metal studs dry to stop rusting ?
They are wooden chairs with the seat fabric studded to the seat top round the edge. No pictures, sorry.
Thanks.

Ben.

Cling film might work, thanks. V. tricky to clean the fabric without getting the studs wet around the perimeter. I suppose rapid drying with air mover afterwards 2/3 at a time on their sides.

Thanks gcs.

Ben.

you should not reallly be leaving the chair that wet for longer enough to crate rust to form.
Unless there is a preexisting condition then it should not be a problem. Rust does not form on metel instantly.
In the rare instance it happens just go back and treat the rust with a rust remover.

I get round this after cleaning by tearing foil pads half way down, slipping them behind then pull the torn pieces across each other, probably not explained it well but it will look like a daffodil or a cone! Advise not to remove until dry. If the buttons are rust free it should not be problem. If rust does occure it will not transfer and you will just need to deal with the button.
