I used to have the Morphy Richards Grime Buster but it broke and I am now looking for a new machine. I have seen ads on Sky for the Shark Portable Steam Cleaner.

The thing I liked about the GrimeBuster was the power, it was 4 bar. The Shark claims to be 4.5 bar.

I have seen more expensive ones which I cannot afford but they are only 3 bar or 3.5 bar in pressure.

Has anyone used the Shark, is bar pressure important or is a Steam cleaner assessed on how hot they can get to, or perhaps both.

I have about £100ish to spend and want a good quality machine that gets the job done.

Can anyone help or maybe suggest a better steam cleaner.

For a hundred quid I think you're going to get a pretty poor machine. I would have thought that £500 should be your minimum budget for a steam cleaner, and for commercial use more likely around the thousand mark. With all due respect you might look a bit cowboyish with a machine the customer can buy themselves at Woolworths, or even worse on Sky TV.

What do you intend to use it for?

other than that you can still purchase the `Morphy Richards Grimebuster` on ebay for less than £100.

Hi all

Thanks for the replies

Its only for home use and helping elderly neighbours out etc. They wont mind what the machine is as I dont charge them but I live in a small rural village and help out where I can. I just wanted something to make life a little easier when doing these jobs.
