hi guys, as anyone tried the dri-eaz dri pod from restormate, how do you rate them against snail blowers..cheers

They work differently, not as powefull but they have great pwer for there size. Ideal for taking on your van because of the size they take up little room and you can stack them, they are nice and light.
They cover a drying circumference of about 10 feet, so ideal for leaving in one room while you clean another.

Over all great little machines IMO

Yes I left my snail in the lockup and just use the dripod

the air is also concentrated downwards so there is not the problem of blowing pictures off the walls and all the dust and cobwebs that you get with the conventional blowers. They are a nice piece of kit.

Can you use them for upholstery

probably better to use a snail for upholstery the dripod would be good for drying the seats but the feet are bound to leave marks.

you can use them for drying upholstery, just angle them on their side and direct towards the furniture.

They are not as effective as a snail in use that way. A snail is more effective at drying. The dripods are so easy to handle but if you do want to dry upholstery a snail is a far better solution. dripods are better on a floor.

thanks for the replies, does anyone use the normal portable fans available from machine mart etc, they seem very well priced compared to the snails but is that because there not really fit for purpose in respect to drying carpets.

depends how heavily you walk on the carpet Pete....

Myself who floats daintily across the carpet leave no marks... 

But you being the heavy footed person you are.will leave huge dents in the carpet ..

the feet do not leave noticable marks on carpet as the air presure reduces the weight of the unit anyway. I have only left them insitu as long as we have beeen working in the house they are considerably quieter than the large turbo dryers. I have a few  of the drieaze compact turbo dryers than are also light, small and effective and take up only a small amount of room on the van.
Other than that wear some thick soled slippers Hector.

Space on the van is crucial to me and being quiter is a bonus, I did 5 communal staircases and landings recently and luging driers up and down the stairs was a killer.

you can put them on their sides but the airflow will disperse over a wide area if it is not close to the item needing drying.
Each drier has its use that is why I have 5 different types of driers for flood work.
