« on: April 25, 2010, 11:01:20 am »
Hi all, just to warn you, don't go on the Alltec forum, successfulcleanersforum.co.uk, unless you want a bucket full of viruses. Cant use my desk top now untill Tuesday when the man with 'the knowledge' is coming to sort me out.

Hi Len

Always made a point of backing stuff up but over time you can become complascent. The bu....r of it is I'd only logged on for a moment and then was called away to help the other half with some major event that just "can't wait" ::) When I came back I had a screen full of warnings, fire wall off line, this that and the other. Tried to remove it all but to no avail :'(

When I say ghost I mean master hard disk with all relevant software installed and not live till I updated it then copy it across ;), I’m no computer expert :-[! As for my doc’s auto backup too other HD’s hope the antivirus will kick in ::)

If you can load in Avast Free virus scanner and run it at startup, this should find and rid you of your viruses.
My dads laptop had loads of viruses last week,(Uber GGB's of porn downloaded), and I had to pay £ 20-00 for a man to come over and load in the free version, he ran it and left it running. It took about two hours and all was ok!

Thanks Benny B. I run AVG anti virus and it won't let me access the internet due to " a spyware program is attempting to log your keystrokes". Don't want take chances I'm not sure about so if it cost's me £20 or more to make sure it's right then so be it. Too many doc's to lose if I get it wrong.

save yourself £20 or whatever it costs by starting the computer in 'safe mode'.  you do this by pressing F8 i think when the computer is booting up and it will give you the option of starting windows normally or in safe mode.

In safe mode, run your virus checker and it should get rid of the spyware.

Boot into safe mode by pressing F8 at boot up,
just before the windows logo appears.
Select safe mode with networking.
go to
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
As soon as downloaded , install it, and update it.
immediatly after disconnect your internet connection.
Run full scan.
This will remove almost anything

Hi Adi,

Here is another method that you may want to try:

Start in safe mode (Keep hitting F8r after powering on)
then:

Click on ‘Start’
Click 'Control Panel'
Click ‘Perfromance and Maintenance’
Click ‘System Restore’  (2nd from top left)
Select: Restore and click on NEXT button
Choose any highlighted date earlier than the date you got the virus
Follow on-screen instruction from there.

Note that no documents will be lost.

This worked for me after experiencing  the same problem following  a visit to  the alltech forum.

Regards

Jim

Thanks for advice but it's more serious than first thought. Not lost any doc's but cannot get onto the net or bring up any system folders. Downloaded all doc's etc onto lap top and going to wipe the hard drive on the desk top then re-install everything. Like to get my hand's on the people who create these problems.

Hi Ian

I think it's called the b.....y pain in the a...e virus. All sorted now. System clean and can surf again ;D

Had a call from Jason Williscroft (admim) who had the same problem some weeks ago. Gave me the good new's that my website had also been taken down. Jase told me he got rid by starting his comp in safe mode then did a system restore. Following that he down loaded Avast(free) and did a system scan.

Feel free to correct me Jase if I've got that wrong.

And what's wrong with Anthea then? Found her to be an very friendly person, adds load's of credbilty. Without a pic nobody believe's you when you tell them.

Google placing is ok. Did try adwords for a while because some say how muh work it brings in.
