just got one of these, my question is, mine came with a tap on the hozelock connector, if i turn down the flow the pump makes a different noise, and if i turn the tap off the pump stops but still makes a clicking noise, is this normal? thanks in advance.

The noise change is because of the reduced flow and the click noise is the pressure switch doing its job.
All normal

that slows down the water flow, but will put the pump under more pressure.
so it will not last as long.

It is perfectly normal, if you listen to a normal pump either on a trolley or van, they both make these sounds.
At times you might have to adjust the pressure switch though.
