Selling up & moving to Canada
« on: April 21, 2010, 05:59:01 pm »
After 22 years of washing windows, i`ve sold my buisness and im moving to Canada, where I will do it all over again... just bigger...
Apart from the odd grim winter, i`ve enjoyed my job for over 20 years and often smile to my self that I earn a good full time wage working part time hours and totally stress free...
I sold my round for 20k
inc. van and pole system (worth 5k max)
plus the kids going to come and work with me (for free) till i leave in july...I hope he`s not expecting an easy life.. coz im going to work him like a dog and show him that money will motivate you to work hard..
Over the last year i`ve spent alot of time in Canada and the place is very short of wfp window cleaning, so im off to earn an honest $

Back in 1989 a canadian window cleaner I know, used the waterfed pole system out there in Ontario you would think that it would have taken off by now?

repect to the guy for making his first post to say goodbye, he could have just went.

Would love to hear updates on how it goes overthere.

Winter over there can be a nightmare, when I was sipping cocktails with a canadian she told me it hit -26 over there,  :o :o i'm sure the ummers are nice though.

Good luck in your new venture  ;)

Canada has a lot of extremely cold and miserable weather and can make the UK look like the Bahamas.  A mate of mine whose living in Canada tells me it reached -40 C the year before last and he ventured out to see what it felt like.

He said his eye balls hurt it was that cold.

Whilst Canada's wild and wide open country side and cheap houses may look attractive, there is a good reason why they 'advertise' to get immigrants into the country.  It's because of their tough climate.

Good luck fella.
