« on: August 09, 2005, 03:28:00 pm »
He are some photos of my new wfp trolley that quite a few of you wanted to see.

The trolley is not quite finshed yet ( It's having a metal rotating hose reel fitted with 50m of tricoflex hose also it will come with a flow control)

Brilliant! - how many litres is that barrel and how do you fill it and move it around?
It's a game of three halves!

I found by having larger wheels helped on gravely surfaces, By putting the wheight in this case the battery over the wheel axel made it easier to move, and on a later vershion I fitted a hose reel that wound the hose in from the side, found this to be a lot more stable, I do like the extra wheel I would imagine that this would take a lot of the strain out of pushing the trolley, As I,ve said before though towards the end I would leave it attached to the vehicle and just pull the hose as needed, and even later I put a large tank inside the vehicle and fed the system from that leaving the small 25ltr on the trolley for them times when I needed to be mobil.

Malcg

It holds 120 litres of water which I fill using a 12v 75 litre per minute transfer pump which fills this barrel up, in 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Its excellent to move around now I have got it balanced, It goes down all the back alleys that I have so far come across with the greatest of ease, the only problem that I have come across is the hose reel, but thats being replaced with one that can rotate 180 degrees and be locked into various positions, it should also reel in faster.

This trolley is for those who need a trolley that can reach the house that needs cleaning and they can't park close to it.

Also most other trolleys only hold 25 or 50 litres of water, which I have found is usless when I have 10 houses to clean and I have to keep going back to my vechicle for water, because 50 litres is only good enough for 4 houses.

An example of this happened last week, I have a road where I clean 7 houses front and back, well doing the front is a breeze but to do the backs I have to go down 1 alley for about 100 yards then I have to go across the back of these houses though another alleyway for 300 yards or so, then I have to go up their back gardens 75 yards and some have very big steps to gain access into their gardens.

Now I have been doing these houses for 18 months and it use to take me up to 90 minutes to do these houses, after keep on going back to fill up with water at least 3 times and walking what felt like a mathron, but last week it was like winning to pools, the trolley went down the alleyways with the greatest of ease, I left the trolley in the alley and ran the hose up the gardens and finshed the whole lot in 30 minutes.

Which is not bad now considering when I priced the job up in the first place it was set at 90 minutes of work, which I can now do in 1/3 of the time.

Since I have been using this trolley I have found that I can complete my round by upto 25% faster than before.

So you say you did 7 houses F and B in 30 mins , by my sums thats just over 4
mins per house , surely it took longer than that to get your petrol tanker up and down the alleys !

It took 30 minutes to clean the backs.

As for setting up, all I do is pull up in the van open the backdoors lift the trolley out (which is already set up to operate) connect to water hose to fill up which takes a couple of minutes and thats it.

If I wanted to take the trolley apart (disconnect the control panel and water barrel from the trolley) this would take about 1 minute and to put together it would take around 3 minutes

I don't know about being the "thing" to lift it in and out of the the van.

But when its empty its quite easy.

Maybe you need some extra powers to empty the barrel before you pick it up.
