The sun brings out the nutters !
« on: August 09, 2005, 12:14:36 am »
Its true , i thought id seen it all until today , got to one of my jobs and found one of my elderly customers perched on an old wooden stepladder which was footed on an uneven flowerbed , he was brushing his garage roof off !
The obvious happened as i watched , the ladder went and so did he , crashing backwards into bushes and flowers , i had to laugh as he called for me to pull him out , he was fine so it was ok , but it wasnt until then that i actually saw what he was doing , the brush was a wire one , and you guessed it , the roof of the garage was made of asbestos , and hed really gone at it too , the roof was plastered in dust , and no doubt his lungs were too .
CRAZY OLD BOY  :o

Following the old man incident i went to my next area and got to work , i was up at the bedroom window of this old girl just blading away the suds when the net curtain flew back and this nutty old bird bangs on the window and shouts
BOO ! , she gave me the fright of my life !
This ever happened to anybody else , i dont think she realised what she could have done .
I cant wait to get the WFP goin after that !

I had exactly the same happen in the early 90s.  I told her off about it but I wasn't too harsh.  She got the message and never did it again.

Rich,
I've merged your topic with the first one you started, it's on the same topic so doesn't need to be a separate thread!

I was working in the local town centre the other week, and in a pedestrian area, as I was WFP-ing away I watched a chap in a suit with a hosepipe.
He was hosing down the flagstones, I was dying to ask him what he was doing, because all he was doing was wetting the ground and splashing grit and so up against the walls and windows of the shops ???
He was performing no useful function at all that I could see.

I'm sure he felt he was doing something really useful, personally I thought he was a berk!

Regards,

Ian

Many years ago when I was managing pubs I had one in the centre of Stafford like a lot of publicans I kept an alsation I used to let this one have the run of the flat above the pub, Any way one summers morning as i was wakeing I could hear the local window cleaners ladders next door though no more about it, then a short while later my dog came into the bedroom growling again I though no more about it then to my horror the window cleaner appeared at my bedroom window and the dog made one almighty leap at him the situation was not helped by the fact that they were sash windows and I had left them open as it was a warm night, the next thing I know the dog was perched on the windwow sill barking at the window cleaner who was now laid out on the pavement below (luckly no harm was done) I also gave him a couple of stiff drinks when I paid him later that morning. one of the many storys relating to my dog while I was in the pub trade...
The secret is not doing as you like but liking what you do
