What's people's thoughts on these as I have heard 2 versions.
Those who always use them.
Those that have them but they never leave the garage.

Are they suitable for domestics, especially small one room jobs?
What's the drying time like?
How long to dry upholstery?

John i always use on upholstery and some times on carpet.

one thing i would say on domestic look around the room before switching on turned one on many years ago in a front room curtains blew up knocking wedding picture in frame of SMASH custy not happy :

I own an F6 Axial whole room Drier which has it's place in the garage since I upgraded my machine to the Altec Triple Vac  I use the snail on upholstery......

I might sell the F6 actually

John hard to say depends on material and how wet in the first place.

I like to stack the cushions say on the suite like pyramid shape like a kid with playing cards never really timed the drying times normally dry or light damp when i leave.

You got me thinking now never had a complaint as yet on my sofa or chair is still wet plenty of dry passes and a wipe down with a terry towel remove tp from carpet to stop overspray away i go

Dont do a large amount of upholstery i charge around £20 - £25 a bum  for me i can take it or leave it might be my prices 

The more air movment the quicker the drying thats how i see it after all the missus lowers the washing line then she pulls it back up and she is never wrong

cushions dry before we leave, blower on cushions while we clean carcus,

wouldn't use on one room, never use on polyprop as there dry in 20 mins anyway, if doing 2 rooms plus, will put blower on first room cleaned while doing the next room and so on for more rooms.
wouldn't be without mine, always on the van. may buy a snail but van room is at a minimum.

Same as derek with the cushions..

I use two air movers when i do upholstery and that will speed up the drying process.

Sometimes i use them on the carpets...

There always worth having on the van...

I usually carry 4 and an axial fan.

on a 3pc suite the last item I clean will still be damp when i leave. so usually the 3 setter and 1 chair is completely dry the other chair is damp.

single rooms I don't bother I'm not their long enough for it to have an effect, but on multiple rooms I use them.

I heard every excuse under the sun why people, don't use them........ blowing pictures & poi-poree is the top excuse

and when people say the suite is dry in an hour without them anyhow .......how do they know? do they go back and check?

Keep moisture to a minimum, plenty of dry passes. Got 2 but dont even carry them in the summer months.

Rarely use air movers.
Sold my whole room downdraught and a snail air mover this time last year.
If I use an air mover its a 20" air fan costing £40 from Machine Mart - and thats more to keep me cool in summer when doing suites - although its directed at the suite I get a cooling blast as well.

Always use mine if only to impress the client with all the equipment; "last bloke didn't have half the amount you have"

Just don't point them at radiator's, will take you ages scooting around the room chasing long strands of dirty fluff.

I left my snail with a custy last year and she found out this mistake for me Soot everywhere

Keep moisture to a minimum

That is what i do now,i used to hold the tool up against the fabric,now i hold the tool about a foot away ,and just give it a light mist,then vac up,still comes up clean,and dry in half the time

Took a snail with me yesterday, but the weather was good and with a light breeze, the carpets and fabrics were drying really well. The snail stayed in the van.

The picture did fall of the customers wall and it was not even pointed at it, frightened to use it now in most houses, i always take a good look around the room and the majority of homes have something that could be damaged ornaments, pictures etc i may do what Joe does and get something smaller as my snail has three setting fast/very fast/ and hurricane its stupid i cant tell the difference

When I first ever used one I picked it up while it was running and nearly popped my wrist....  :
