Stupid question can anyone tell me a few do's and don'ts on buying a round.  What questions to ask and how I can cover myself as much as possible.

2. You can ask for an independent valuation about any round you are thinking of buying - cost of £10

3. There might even be a round for sale in your area

Just got a couple of pointers. Ask for his records of the round, how many customers, prices , how often cleaned etc. Its a good start. Then ask when they were all last cleaned and if due soon ask if you can go out with him see the work ( the best way) you also get to meet some of the customers.

If you finally buy the round when he`s goes collecting last time ask him to take you with him and introduce you too customers so there no confusion.

Hi, Thanks for the tip, I didn't think about the last point, thats a good idea, im meeting up with him on thursday so will suggest going out when he goes money collecting...

He said himself about taking me out to meet customers etc and all windows are up to date so looking good.
I'll let you know how it goes...

Also is it normal to get a letter written up saying he is selling the round to me and he will not approach the customers?

Sounds like he`s leggit. On the letter front this is the way too go. Although in a court it might not hold much it adds to the peace of mind. deffinately get a receipt as its tax deductable !!!!

Oh Didn't realise it was tax deductable..Also what do you mean by Leggit...hasn't paid tax and doing a runner?

sos short hand not too good meant legitamate. And on the tax front you only pay tax on profit and the cost of the round is your first major expense !!

I see what you are saying..well im meeting up with the chap tomorrow so will know a bit more then..I'll let you know. Also thanks for the Tax Tip hadn't thought of that...
