I put any new scrims on a boil wash before first use. They get better after a few washes. IMO they are far better than microfiber for detailing. Microfibers are good for buffing glass but scrims rule on detailing, I've tried loads of different m/fibers & IMO they are an over-rated product! Another thing, don't use softener in the wash.Happy days
