its worth spending time finding a comfy shoe, then sticking with it .    look closely at the sole and rub it on a shop counter to see if its grippy (good on ladders )

i stumbled on a great grippy and comfy make of trainer "mercury " ,  they only last 2 months but are cheap. i was buying mine in jonathanjames the shoe shop but started to notice they were  getting low on stock ,i asked an assistant ,then the manager who told me the big shops head office place one large order for a particular shoe from the factory  and then distribute it over their branches but once its gone  its gone (takes 6 months or so from order to sellout usually they say)

they ended up getting me 11 pairs of my favourite shoe from branches around the country  - but worth it as my feet never feel tired

My Rockport boots are excellent. Bloody expensive but they have lasted me over a year, they are waterproof and they are very hardwearing!!!!
