what system?
« on: March 23, 2010, 09:46:22 pm »
Hi guys,

I have been asked by a large building contractor if i do window cleaning, i said no, he said thats a shame because i need a 6 acre site (regular) and a large warehouse cleaned. So i am looking to take the plunge and invest in a full set up to go in my existing van (if i get the contract). I have just spent the last hour or so checking previous posts and am still not sure which one to go for!!!!

So what system to you guys recommend? And i would also be looking at a training course to go on!!!

Cheers
Alan

You want the BWCA for training

http://www.bwca.co.uk

As for systems, there is a multitude to choose from, depends exactly what you need and how bothered you are about things like safety.

www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk

Very good price & crash tested. They sell the best poles & brushes too IMO. ring them, they're good people to deal with.

Other than that, buy a 400ltr tank, 2 DI vessels, pump box, hose reel, pole & brush & off you go. ;)

You can always sort an RO out later if your in a hard water area but the above will get you going right away.

you honestly do not need to go on a course, pratise on your own windows for a hour or so and you will get the knack of it

you could allways ask a local window cleaner to watch him for a hour or 2

i clean mine like this

brush around the edges of the glass
brush up and down moving across the glass
1 last brush of the top of the pane
then rinse ( pull brush away from glass a few inches ) moving left to right whilst moving down the glass

you dont need a window cleaninfg school for that

I can't see how you can do this alan, it's the bacon and egg breakfast where the pigs commited (you're the chicken). A wfp pole van is just that, it can't be anything else. 6 acre sites need a pro set up, hire a proper van, or get an assist.

Got my systems from Pure Freedom and while they fitted my van I went out with a pro window cleaner on real jobs and asked loads of questions! The training with them was brill! after that when youve got the tricks of the trade get stuck in, its not brain taxing!

Could go for a trailer mounted system, that way you will not have to re-arrrange your van.
