anyone give me some info on them? i know nothing, just off to google to do some research on them. think i seen some on malcs sight so i'll start there.

I have been running 6 years now and have only bought a hot box this year. Most jobs can be done cold especially if your just starting. A bare boiler can be bought from as low as £600, I got mine from Brayton Engineering for £1200 all in delivered.  A bare boiler needs to be controlled and protected by a relief v/v, you'll need a fuel tank and a trolley if its not being bolted directly into a van. Most boilers are Lavor and are rated at 200 bar (3000psi) @ 15 or 21 ltr/min so if your m/c is rated over this you just have to knock the unloader and /or revs back a bit, to get the temperature right up you would do this anyway. The increased cost over the bare boiler just results in the trolley, tank, cover and the control gear etc that each machine comes with. Do you really need to spend this money at first ?

no i don't need it to start off with but if and when i do i'd like to know so i'm ready, at the moment i'm looking at bowser trailers and therefore need extra room for the washer reels and other bits, soo if i can get one with a bit of room for a hotbox then thats a bonus. its just forward thinking which is how i like to do things, allthough it doesn't always work as you plan it

thanks for reply, theres not much info on them that i can find, are they diesel or electric, malcleanse does them but its confusing for a newbie as to wether there electric or diesel, if there diesel, whats the 4 meter cable for?

The unit needs a small 240v supply which I use a 1kv suitcase other than thats its self contained.

Why can't you use your truckmount for hot water?

maximum heat is only achievable at 400 to 600 psi, all down hill from there brian, my tm is only mid range and the low end of mid range at that. truckmount is purely for indoor work.

My local supplier, they do my servicing and any parts or accessories I need. I don't know if that was a price for me (I do use them a lot) or whether it would be say another 100 for a one off, but even at 850 still cheap!!!

Derek, its a Portotecnica Stainless Steel Burner Unit M40-V. It comes with fuel pump, pump solenoid valve, starting transformer, heating coil and all cables. All it needs is a frame to sit in. List price £916.40 + vat.

john have you any more of these units? im looking at getting a hot box. do you need a small generator to run it? i have a 13hp honda engine pressure washer with interpump. i want to have hot water and steam for my graffiti work.

Sorry only had the one which I was going to rig up myself but changed track. Think they will run off a 12 volt inverter or genny.
