I have another new one to go and see tomorrow i do trade and have a minimum charge of £10 is that fair or to much?.

I suppose it depend where you live, I try and have a min £7 charge,But even then i sometimes drop below that,i.e for fronts only, or i do a 1 bed flat with four windows,only charge her a fiver,Depends how much you need the work,I hope one day to drop  the lower paying ones and have all high prices,but for now i have to take what i can get to pay the bills,But saying that if i pick up a load more in the blocks of flats (2 story sheltered housing type things) it could end up being a good earner

Hi im in suffolk in abit of a tourist area my lowest jobs are 2 bunglows £10 each i dont really want to go much lower than that.Anyway how are you getting on i haven't been on the forum much lately and when i was last on alot you were just starting out.

Ive got alot more canvassing to do but most of the ones i have pay £15+ i even have one that pays £27 but now the weathers broke abit im getting out there canvassing again.I also do garden maintence so id like to try and combine them both in a round.

They say never work for you family or friends but as you do them free theres no problem there.Its when you start charging then the problems arise i know ive been there, we dont speak to my partner ex stepdad anymore and that was 2 years ago.

Just worked mine out and it works out at 9.45 average price.Don't think thats too bad for now.I too really need to get out and do some more canvassing,a combination of having the kids 3 nights a week and being bone idle does not help though  :

minimum charge is up to you!i have a min charge for front onlys/3 bedders/4 bedrooms/bungalows etc and i dont go below that rate.we all have to do the lower paying ones as well as the decent stuff!its my basic "bread and butter" work!

i also have a higher minimum charge for scattered accounts that are not near my other work.

eg.

front only  £3

small 3 bed semi  £5

4 bed house       £10

bungalows          £5

i wont put my ladders up for under a fiver .  on the council estates are eagle eyed skinflints that only want their front uppers done -mention  a fiver makes them rush back indoors scowling . later a more friendly neighbour will have a word in my shell like,on their behalf, to "see what i can do " but  no im sorry its a fiver  for me to put my ladders up

Mine is £20 unless it's right next to one I already do and I don't have to move the van.

I advertise ALOT nowadays. I've sold/passed on most of my less than £20 work now. I'd rather pass the smaller enquiries onto other w/c's I know.

It's been hard work getting to this point but it's worth it!

dont explain yerself DAZ, YOUR PRICING IS SPOT ON  far as i see  .   maybe others on this site do more upper crust type places ,higher base price /// personally most of my stuff is 2 up 2 downers , + pre war council estates and im glad i do that stuff as its very reliable money

i have some similar flats in small blocks at £4 and £5 each and make a good wedge on it, compact and easy to do

i agree with a minimum on stuff like 2, 3 bed semis etc

but some stuff i cant justify like an old irish ladies front 2 windows im not gonna charge a tenner am  i

its £2 and inbetween4 dozen other houses i clean, she pays as i clean

I do some 2 storey sheltered housing same as you (4 windows) and charge a fiver a time
