Hi guys, does anyone know how to get silicone off glass?

use a scraper if it's ground level otherwise you might need to go up a ladder

Dust it with talcum powder to dry it up, then use 000 grade steel wool to remove it.
It works well honest.

iv got 1 house recently had new windows and theres some kind of gookie that is near the seals,like a silicone grease. more you polish the windows the worse this stuff comes out . nitemare !

and a couple of these brand new  windows have what looks like hard water stains but you only see it when you wash the glass,maybe this is some kind of silicone on it ,its too thin to scrape

If it's blobs then the Ungar scrapers are very good, the blades are very thin (the one-sided razor blades we used to get). If it is smears, which gets worse when you try rubbing it off, I use a clean cloth with a bit of white spirit, although you will have to leave it for a short time to evaporate, otherwise it will interfere with your water. I just had to do a house with four new windows on the back all smeared with silicone. why can't tradespeople finish jobs off properly?

as said earlier OILFLO will do the job  , most online w/c suppliers do it i personallly use Soap national

Update- Thanks alot for all your help on this one chaps, I didn't have time to order the Oil Flo 101, but will get some for the future! I used white spirit and it came off a treat. I spent hours trying to get it off before I put out this cry for help and had told the custy I had all but given up hope on it, so when she saw the end results today, she was very impressed. now she is going to see the builders and get some extra money off of them because of the mess they made, and give it to me!!! Plus, she was so chuffed I had spent nearly three days doing the clean, she has recommended me to her company who are just in the process of building 52 houses!!!!
