ID Crisis
« on: July 12, 2005, 08:57:55 am »
Went to bed as a middle aged window cleaner, woke up as a 20 yr old receptionist, who risks the reputation of a brand new business for a cheapshot at advertising. interesting, entertaining, but a little fancyfull. one thing is true, my grammer does suffer towards the end of a 16 hour day. sorry about that. will try harder.

Regards

Carl

Morning Carl,

You should  understand that forum members have been subjected to subterfuge from new suppliers in the past and so are naturally sceptics especially if they smell a fish!

You have to be straight with people in this industry, British consumers as a whole tend to be more sceptical and analyse everything. Don't be so hard on yourself you're not quite middle aged yet, just 30.

"who risks the reputation of a brand new business for a cheapshot at advertising". Who indeed?

In your first post you said that you would be happy to answer my questions on the forum, so I'll hold you to that if you don't mind.

Carl,

Aside from your product, there is probably much you can offer this forum.  I hope you stick around.  Honest.

However, just to confirm (if that is the case) my/our strong suspicions I have asked the owner of this site about the IP number marked on yours and Becki's posts.  Each time a post is made, the IP number is logged.  Each computer will stamp each post with its own unique IP number; therefore if what you say is true; you and Becki should have different numbers.  You may already know this.

Unfortunately the owner is on holiday, so we'll have to wait.

However, we have had 'members' in the past that have pretended to be not quite what they say,  then, after members have helped them with their questions, it transpired they were full of the 'proverbial'; they have had another motive, which was a shame on the 99.9 percent of 'honest' (hyphenated due to tax reasons) forum members.

Therefore I am sure you understand my position in voicing my opinion, locking the thread and deleting your website address.

As I say, Carl, I hope you stick around – but please refrain from posting your web-site address, or mentioning your company name; until I have clarification from the boss-man about 'freebie' advertising.

The IP number would be different anyway if a person logged out and straight back in again (unless they use a fixed IP service).  However it's often possible to tell if the two IPs came through the same ISP - though that wouldn't actually prove anything but would just make it more or less likely.

Shiner,

You're right!  I've just checked out mine!

I'm a Geordie, bare with me!  Sometimes, I feel like a right Frank Spencer.  I try to do the 'right thing' and it all goes pear shaped!

I guess all I can advise at present to Carl and Becki is to post as normal, but do not mention Carl's website or address!

If you're both still around in a few months; then we'll know you were right and I was wrong!

Sorry, Guys,

Thread locked.  Reason given in 'The Becki'.
