Conservatory total clean pricing:
« on: March 12, 2010, 11:33:26 am »
This is a regular question, so let's see if we can get some hard answers from those experts who do the jobs regularly.

Assume that the three conservatories below are caked in algae, there's several years worth of dust on the roof, the ends of the roof panels are solid black and the gutters are full of crud. They look embarrasing!

How much would you charge for a total clean, outside only.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

No 1 - Victorian 5-facet, polycarbonate roof

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

No 2 - Lean-to, self-cleaning glass roof. Regular glass sides down to ground.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

No 3 - Victorian 3-facet with box gutter, Polycarbonate roof (six sections on box gutter at rear) This one has difficult access at both sides as the side clearance to the fence is just less than 5 feet.

You've just about got enough room at the sides to get your step ladder or doubles in place. The problem is that you're using your pole extended to 12 feet or more and you haven't got much room to manoeuvre it.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

And if you're up for it, make an estimate of how long it might take you to do the job from arriving to driving away.

Remember, they are really dirty!!!!!!

I am only just starting to do a few of these, but i would charge
1= 60-£70
2= £50
3=£80-£100
 Last one would depend on whether i could get access to sides from next door,got a conny with gutter box to do next week,really not looking forward to it,But have seen on here that you can rest your ladder stand off against the top edge of conny (just under gutter) so bit more confident of doing it now.Its very similar to the bottom one,just with glass roof,maybe slightly smaller,only charging £40 for everything insides and out,the couple are multi millionaires,but i used to spend my weekends and school hols working for them (on a farm) so they bit like my grandparents, felt guilty charging more, more money you got,less you need to spend  :( suppose thats why rich get richer  ::)

Spot on Sean.

A note - if a conny has a small wall at the bottom instead of panels going to the floor it is much easier as you don't have to bend down and the results of any patio washing or dog paws or rain bounce are far easier to remove.
It's a game of three halves!

1. £50 - £75 depends on how bad/long the gutter extraction would take.

2. £40 - £50                                 as above

3. £100 - £120                            as above

think it depends the area of the uk wc live - big price difference from newcastle to london

been doing con valets for about 2 years now and ive never used tfr - think i just got lucky tho with my customers not letting the roof get too bad.

always use the tap if its pos.
so def worth giving tfr a go then mate? everyone says its good.
just spray on roof and leave for a few mins?
best place to buy?

I got my tfr from local hgv suppliers,think they are regional or even national,HGV direct. £12.99 for 25 litres if i remember rightly,get green stuff,not red (apparently that would damage seals....window,not the ones in the sea  ;D ) Try a local hgv place

thats how u price ;)

So how do you do it, Hitman?

(And I'm keen to get lammy's prices as well. How much can you get in Wrexham?)

So far, I'm quite impressed with the prices. I might charge a tad less for the first two, but I'd charge more for the third. That's cos I HATE box gutters.

My prices would be:

1 - 10 easy panels @ £5 = £50. Access at far side looks tricky, so wouldn't be keen on giving a discount, so £50

2 - 7 easy, but big panels so £7 each = £49. Say £4 discount for easy access, so £45

3 - 6 box gutter panels @ £10 = £60. 18 side panels @ £5 = £90. Can't see any good reason for giving a discount as the access is so difficult at the sides. I'd only want the job if I had a quiet week, so take-it-or-leave-it price = £150

Those are for one-off customers. Regular customers might get a discount of 20% or so.

we bought 25L from a local company for about £30 the name on the barrel is JANGRO TRAFFIC FILM REMOVER. I also got a 7L hoselock pump up sprayer from b&q put about 5L of water in sprayer added about 50ML of tfr gave it a shake, pumped it up and this was enough to do the roof (which looked more like astroturf) the gutters, frames and windows on a conny a bit bigger than the top picture above.
once you've sprayed the tfr on the roof you only have to show it the brush and the muck just jumps of it.
So yes tfr is well worth a go cant believe we didn't try it sooner, and at this price one barrel should last us a few years ;D ;D
Thanks,

IF THIS IS THE GOING RATE FOR CONSERVATORIES
then these prices av yet to reach sunny north wales
WREXHAM in particular , good luck to those who get such prices
but i cant see anyone charging these prices being unindated with such
work at these vastly over inflated prices sorry if iv not been much help
on price but think the majority of my custys would prefer the algae moss etc
then paying close to £100 just for connie !!!!!!!
