« on: March 09, 2010, 06:00:39 pm »
Anyone on here that works for a franchise or franchises work? Is it worth it ? Are there any good franchises? I have seen them advertised but don't really understand about it all?

Franchisee or franchiser ?

I have thought about franchising work out one day, ..and yes, Ian is the man to ask..

i also could do with his input here, as i am sure i wont get to the point when i can afford to let work go, on the cheap...so to speak...

Its the breakpoint , the right time to do it that concerns me,

and of course the worry of the guys  or guy resenting paying me my share once they are up and running,

Its a complicated way , and only the clever do well (Ian).

Ian runs a good franchise scheme by all accounts but most of the ones you see advertised are nothing more than rather disreputable traps to catch people with redundancy money who have never cleaned a window in their life.

The number of nearly new signwritten vans for sale on ebay tells the story.

An oven cleaning man I have spoken to a couple of times tells me the situation with oven cleaning franchises is bordering on fraud. He is still going after two years but nobody else he knows has survived and the only reason he keeps going is because the failed franchisees in the areas bordering his refer any calls they still get to him.

One day I might write a book.  In the meantime, I got a lot of inspiration from this bloke:

There's not a lot of difference between mowing grass and cleaning windows - they're both regular repeat businesses.

I'm always happy to answer questions if anyone wants to contact me:
