Who's going to Carpex
« on: February 26, 2010, 08:11:27 am »
I've just been on the Carpex website and I think that we should all get behind an event like this that is specific to our industry. In particular it should be of interest to the newbies as there will be a vast array of equipment and accessories on show, plus people who can give you demos and talk you through there use AND loads of fellow carpet cleaners in attendance to swap ideas and experiences with. There are also quite a few Seminars you can attend. If I were a newbie I'd be falling over myself to get there of 18th / 19th March. Oh, and it's FREE!

No its not really like CCDO.
Its an exhibition, with display stands.
A few demonstrations going on.
Some seminars in conjunction with NCCA.
Roger Peach doing one.
Its at Coventry football stadium.
Only couple miles off the M6

PLUS ITS FREE....not getting charged £35 makes it more attractive to attend  :). I understand that this time the profits from the CCDO are going to Johns family so on that basis i feel the £35 would bw worth paying

If anyone struggling getting to grips with rotary work, dry fusion usually have a large floor area for demos, as do Envirodri.
Usually pick up show bargains on vac cleaners, LTT and Furniture Clinic leather cleaning stuff etc.
and of course Vax will probably there with their professional range.  :)

I've been to previous ones and in all honesty you see all you need to see in 2 to 3 hours. If you're in the market to be buying something in the near future then it is worth going to.
Personally I'll go with the CCDO day out which will be more orientated to the actual methods of doing the job etc by carpet cleaners for carpet cleaners.

I am going to Carpex, and not CCDO, nothing to do with price, as £35 is next to nowt !
I prefer CCDO, but the missus has banned me as first child is due, so this year it has to be Carpex.
Both events are a bit different, i prefer CCDO because it is for carpet cleaners, Carpex is 75% window cleaning and about 25% carpet cleaning, going by the companies attending.

Yes Carpex is free, however somebody pays along the line, wether it be from sponsers or suppliers, stands at these events cost thousands, and they have to recoup their costs, and as it is us who buy their products, we are in effect paying for it !

We should attend all events as we can learn so much from others, and 1 small conversation could be just what you where wanting to hear, as well as the social side of the events, like ccdo meet night before, going out for a meal, having too much drink, and
celebrating Billy's birthday   ;D ;D ;D ;)

Andrew

 ho ho

And yes I'm going to both. An excuse to get away from work, meet a lot of old friends (well friends of long standing I should say) see what's new and have a good time on the middle evening.

And celebrate Billy's Birthday ;D ;D ;D

HI Guys

I won't be going as I just have too much to do for the CLEAN launch and also the stain removal I am doing at the CCDO.

I did attend Carpex when it was in London and found the first show good but the second was so similar it was the law of diminishing returns.

From the list of Exhibitors I notice Hydramaster are not going, nor Texatherm and it does seem dominated by window cleaning, which is just a bigger industry I suppose.

Cheers

You can see clearly through the strategy.

wonder if he'll have the same view when and if clean decide that carpex would be a good platform to recruit new members, only time will tell.
