Here is a link the ebay advert >> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUPERB-WINDOW-CLEANING-ROUND-FOR-SALE-IN-CAMBRIDGESHIRE_W0QQitemZ170447873965

Quote
IT TAKES WELL OVER £30,000 PER ANNUM FOR ONLY 5 DAYS WORK FOR ONE MAN PER MONTH.

I AVERAGE BETWEEN £450 AND £500 TAKINGS PER DAY WORKING BY MYSELF ON WATER FED POLE.

THE HOURLY RATE AVERAGES OUT AT £70 PER HOUR FOR ONE MAN.

ALL OF THE WORK IS PRIVATE BIG HOUSES IN NICE LUCRATIVE VILLAGES AND NEW DEVELOPMENTS WITH PRICES RANGING FROM £15 TO £75 PER HOUSE GENERALLY PRICED AT AROUND £1.50 PER WINDOW.

THE WORK IS COMPACT ALL WITHIN A TEN MILE RADIUS AND SPLIT INTO 5 BLOCKS SO THAT YOU STAY IN THE SAME AREA ALL DAY.

Hmmmmmm??

Thanks for posting the link for me Im not the best at that kind of thing!  Like I said it's totally genuine and  I can back it up with accounts and the buyer will get to see it for him (or herself) when they work it with me.

Thanks Matt

£30k per year for 5 days per month?
and wants £30,000 for the round?
I think someone needs to wake up and smell the coffee!!!

£2,500 per month = £10,000 maximum.
if it was that good I would certainly have someone work for me to clean the round.
pay him £15,000 per year that leaves you with £15,000 per year for doing nothing.

I would want to work it with you Matt BEFORE I bid on it.
Noone in the right mind would part with any cash until they work the round. and meet EVERY customer.

Yeah too good to be true, plus its kind of abusing the forum turning it into wcroundsforsale surely with that turnover you can affort an advert on there to catch the eye of window cleaners. It doesn't bother me really though.

Although I do get the maths ok. 500 per day 5 days - £2500 every four weeks would be 13 cleans a year 13x2500 = £32500.

Not really well over £30k and thats only if you dont get any days off with weather or holidays.

Ladder the average round will sell for 4x monthly turnover.

£2500 x 4 = £10,000

I know a lot of window cleaners and they will NEVER buy a round for 12 months turnover.
You are buying 'goodwill' as mentioned last year.
they are not tied into legal contracts like commercial customers.

sorry MB I read your post wrong there, and yeah I personally don't buy work but even if I was to consider it I wouldn't pay more than 3x.

Its a fair point though its not Well Over 30k and even then that would be at best.

Matty, how many custies, whats the average price?

Not wanting to have a go, but I think you would do better putting it on wcroundsforsale and takings MB's advice about the price.

Yes 4 x monthly on £5 houses is fair, but this is WAGS prices and worth it imo. I know of a lad who lives on Teesside and does the same & travels to Cambridge every month and gets same sort of money.

Dont you think a round that is over priced is more likely to be at risk of competitors undercutting. Because lets face it if everyone there is paying so much more for there windows, someone will come in and say fine I will do the 5 days a month for 15k no probs and still be quite happy.

The profit margin on the work is extremely high I would ask MB which other business you could buy with a 90% plus profit margin for one years profit?

If it was a crappy little corner shop it would sell for 3 years profit for a load of hassle instead I am selling for 1 years profit for no hassle it's got to be a bargain.

Any work I have sold in the past Ive got a years turnover for no problem and i guarantee someone with common sense will pay the asking price for this round and never look back.

Im 100% honest and the round is exactly as advertised thanks for viewing it.

Hi Matt,

I was looking back at some of your older posts on the forum (from last year) and you talk about having £7 houses, putting your customers all up by 50p etc...

I take it this is a different round?

Matt, this is not a business like a corner shop!
When buying a window cleaning round, you are only buying goodwill, that is stated by HMRC.
there are no assets in a window cleaning round, unlike a corner shop.
unless you have everyone tied in to a legal contract, its nothing more than gesture.
Are you selling the van and equipment as well?

I agree with Matt, there is no tangible asset here just the goodwill of the customers, I have bought lots of rounds off guys over the last 5 years and ALL say the same thing, "it’s a great business, Customers are great, Almost all pay on the day of the clean, Prices are ready to go up.” I have heard it all and it’s never as good as it’s sold.
In reality you can be sure you will lose some, (up to 25% in some cases) Perhaps this round is of particularity high value but customers are the same no matter how much or little they pay.
Worst case scenario and the buyer lost 25% of this round, that’s a huge chunk gone. The payback will be years. Turnover for vanity, profit for sanity!!!!!
Whichever way you cut it this is a part time round. 5 days work for 30k seems totally over the top to me, but hey good luck if you can get it.
