Went to the last one at the Ricoh (a couple of years ago).

It's OK if you're in the market to buy.

It runs parallel to Windex so worth a look if you do any crossover work.

Not a massive show but all the big players should be there (not sure about Alltec now though as last year they changed their marketing strategy to concentrate on training / marketing at their own site).

Not sure I would sacrifice any earnings to go but if you can schedule around then you have nothing to lose.

My personal opinion it is worth going too.
Its a fairly small show and half of it is window cleaning.
There are seminars over the 2 days as well.
Plenty of time to stop and chat with exhibitors rather then dashing around I got to see this and got to see that.
Its every 2 years, the next show will be in 2011 at the NEC and that is a very big one and need 2 days there.

Definitely worth going to. Don't look at it as a day's lost income. you charge what you charge in order to finance such trips as a way of keeping upto date with what is available in the market.

I must confess to also enjoying the dinner on the first night as well; a good chance to get together socially with other cc's.

The seminars are usually very good.

this year they will be even better than usual.......

I'll arrive Thursday morning, stay over on the night plus awards dinner, there Friday too.

As Roger and Joe say, it's more than looking at shiny new machines. You are investing time in the future of your business. You're making contacts. You can see many of the machines on your wish list and compare them for size/bulk, weight, ergonomics etc. etc. Some may even be powered up so you can get a feel for the performance. That wand you always fancied could turn out to be too heavy for you. You might see a power wand that will just fit in with that new contract you are chasing. Like the CFR hand tool? Or Wonder Wand. Just talk to karl, Karen et al to find out more about them.

If you are planning new kit next year, that personal contact with a company/rep could make negotiations easier next time.

Thinking about hard floors? Plenty of people to advise. Hell, a conversation about tile and grout with Keith Robertson could take half a day on it's own!!!

And then there's the networking. A little bird told me that Dave Ingram will buy the coffee if you say the magic word "Phoenix" ;)

Not a massive show, but there's a hell of a lot to miss. Perhaps the biggest collection of manufacturers that you'll get under one UK roof all year.

Hope to see you all there.

Safe and happy showtime :)

I agree,  plenty to do there and chance to gain lots of knowledge.

Ken
It takes half a day just saying hi & catching up with Keith  ;D  Really nice bloke though.  Lots of knowledge to be gained from him.

Richie.

Yes David, I saw the advert for the new Dry Fusion machine, or was it just in some Quartz/Carpex promo?

Whilst you're there David, would you know if the Dry Fusion E 460 vacuum is the same as the Sebo BS46? Apart from colour they look identical. Or would it be more diplomatic of me to ask,  If I had an E460, and it needed some spares, should I be confident that if ordering from Sebo they would fit and  be of the same quality and specification?

I'm asking 'cos I might be needing a new Sebo and the E460 is cheaper! And my Sebo has proved to be one of the better all round vacs I've ever had.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

Hi guys, a question for David or Ken.
I recently bought a second hand Dry Fusion machine, but it did not come with the shot of steam attachment.
Is it worth spending over a £100 for a new one.
Cheers
Rab.

IMO Robert, the system with genuine Dry Fusion solutions  doesn't need it.

I've spoken to many others who are of the same opinion too.

Safe and happy Fusioneering :)

Derek

Many manufacturers will have on the day special offers at trade shows, and Dry Fusion have certainly done this in the past.

It wouldn't surpise me if David did not know anything until he arrives at The Ricoh Arena, and I suspect that if he did, he may not be allowed to divulge the information anyway :-X

Your best bet is to go along and see what's on offer and what you can negotiate.

Because Sterling is valued lower these days against both the Euro and $Aus, this may not help your cause.

David is only an occasional visitor to CIU.

Safe and happy bartering :)
