Arghhh not so simplez car insurance.
« on: February 20, 2010, 03:15:45 pm »
Hi all,

I am just shopping around insurance comparison websites, & looking for car insurance to cover me for trad work, but I am having problems.  >:(

Basically, I have put that the insurance is for ME as a window cleaner, & it is for both business & personal use, but it won`t do a search until I put what my "employers" line of work is? I won`t have an "employer", I will be self employed???

One of these comparison websites has worked okay, but it makes me wonder if it is done to trip you up, so if you needed to put in a claim, they would say it`s is not valid.

Any help appreciated on this.

Ian.

Hi again,

I will just have to use the comparison website that works. The results from both websites seem about the same amount anyway.

It does make me laugh though, I have tried reducing the estimated yearly mileage, & also changed the " parked on street overnight" to "kept in garage overnight", & it has not made one bit of difference to the cost of insurance.  ???

I was even put through to the loyalty dept at Chuchill because they put it up £72 extra from last year, even though I have no points, convictions another years NCD etc: He told me thats the best price they could do.

Apparantly if your're LOYAL it doesnt mean squat!  All car/van insurance has gone up across the board.

Probably to pay for all the uninsured folk
