Hi Bryan,

Maybe now, but I remember last year/year before being provided with a list of IOSH working safely training course/venues, & they certainly seemed more frequently orientated up north via the FWC schedules!

I later discovered that it was possible to do this same course WITHOUT needing to go through the FWC, & I have since attended this course, & obtained this certificate, by attending a privately run course.

For anyone else interested, I understand that it is now possible to do this course online, with a 100% pass rate. It only takes about half hour to do the test, & I think you are given 6 months to complete it in.

FWC - They sent me 2 years worth of requests to make payment for membership. They do not seem to understand that if you dont want to join for another year that you simply dont respond to them. I did join again in October 2009 but they took this as a payment for 2 years ago and told me i wasnt upto date so remove their logo from my site!

Apparantly the rule book states we have to let them know we dont want to re-join but the truth is although they legally didnt have a leg to stand on still was prepared to take my money for membership i didnt want at the time.

I need to be a member to help me with larger public contract tenders so i had to pay up to date but my experience is that they dont offer you any real benefits apart from giving you a tiny bit of xtra cred for being part of a professional organisation that helps with the gumf you need to impress a tendering team.

Hope my view can change!

Craig
