Snow, ice, rain and freezing cold. I don't mind the cold but I don't work in rain or snow.

If it wasn't that I know that come the Spring and Summer this is the best job on Earth I'd chuck this poxy job in today and sign on.

I feel for the newbies who are just setting up shop; they must be thinking: "What have I let myself in for"?

chukking it down here in somerset and i have so much work to do

have taken on my mate round as he fell off his ladder before christmas and has now got at least 5 months off due to his injurys

roll on the summer , is it me or has it been a long winter this year ?

it snowed for most of tuesday and wednesday

BUT as we were in alton towers it didnt bother me 

it was so cold the lake in front of the house didnt even thaw for the 2 days

summer....... wasnt that yesterday when it was nice n sunny :
next the weather guys n gals will b saying were gonna have an indian winter.
think i should of been a weather man.... cause them prats get paid even
when they get it wrong n thats 98% of the time

just got in abit damp and its snowing but apart from one customer
it hasnt stopped me working.even with the worst of the weather
we had in birmingham i only ended up 3 days behind.

we keep on about the summer but the last three have hardly
been anything to write home about plenty of rain i have found
that spring and autumn have been the  best and driest months
to clean in.

the last two winters havent been great with this one appalling
but in some ways it has been a godsend as with the weather
conditions being so bad my  new and existing customers have come
to accept almost all but the very worst conditions if they want their
windows cleaning.

if weather patterns continue to be the same over  our
seasons over the next few years the days of only working when its
dry could totally go out of the window

i for one intend to continue what im doing now,so ive
got a feeling i will have accept coming home alittle damp on
a few more occasions yet

In last 4 weeks i've had abit of a bad time myself

4 days in hospital with kidney stones = MEGA PAIN

Hospital last week having Wisdom tooth out & removed part of my jaw bone to get it out

£950.00 yesterday repairs to 1 of my vans - gearbox, clutch, tyre & balancing

Today- flat battery on my tansit van.


Oh well,

i have to work in the rain/ice/snow sometimes or i wouldnt be able to pay my bills/go on holiday(just got bk from 3 days in paris!)and put some money away in my emergency fund account/tax bill/equipment/new van etc.

change your attitude and work in light/moderate rain and half days in snow/ice if not too bad.

we just have to get on with it!

dont make excuses unless you can do the above without window cleaning.

if your struggling to pay your bills and everything else and you ve been established for a few years, you gotta ask yourself if your really cut out for this business!

i often feel better if i do at least a half day when its bad weather!

If you are going to be a window cleaner you can't really avoid a bit of bad weather. Trouble is we've had it soft for the past few years.

The expression "put a bit by for a rainy day" starts to sound like good advice. But yes it does wear you down and saps your motivation.
