TDS readings and metal fitings
« on: July 01, 2005, 09:34:50 pm »
Still getting my WFP bits together.
Now I have read various postings, some say that TDS readings are affected by metal fittings and some say not.  What is the truth of this? I can see that using a metal tap in your RO tank may have some affect, but after it has gone through the pump, surely the water goes through the hose too quick for metal connectors to have much affect.
If any of you long time WFP users are using metal fittings without adverse affect I'll go with that. Your experienced views would be much appreciated. Dai

Tucker Poles use all metal fittings after 40+yrs thought they would have found it out by now if it were so. MIGHT EVEN BE BRASS.

I have converted an aluminium car wash pole for wc. The water goes up inside the aluminium pole and came out the end 0 ppm, so I guess I have answered my own question now. No adverse reading. Dai

Ferrous metals, like steel and iron should be avoided. Stainless steel and brass are okay.
