Ive now got a soil pipe to transport my poles on the top of a partner van.
Can anyone sugggest any clamp suppliers that dont charge mega bucks for the clamps to secure it to the roof bars.
I was also considering making my own as i am the tightest window cleaner in the southeast has any one tried this ?

all i done was drill hole thru soil pipe and use bolts and self locking nuts works perfectly

We done the same.

Bought ordinary soil pipe clamps and drilled holes on the side of the roof rack.

We also spray painted them and the soil pipe so as it doesn't look quite as obvious.

I'm not sure what length the soil pipe came in but we did have to cut it down.

It also had a screw on one end which we bough a screw on cap for but be wary of doing it up more than a few turns as you'll never un screw it again.

For the other end we bought a cap end which was permantly fitted by brushing on a sealant for pvc pipping and then quickly pushing on the cap end.

Thanks. It's a 1982 2.8 Ford Granada modified by a company who cut it in half and added 7 foot and turned it into a hearse.

1) the 0800 number that you have does it work and what are the average cost
2) the hazard tape down the side of your ladder where from and cost
 hope you pick this up

The 0800 number works really well.

We found the company on the internet and it was a one off £90 (or about that price) charge for the actual number then the calls are on top. My work partner conned the company that they were dealing with a large business ...... 

We now have the calls transfered to our work mobile and the biggest bill we've had so far was about £8 because it's charged by the second. On an average week we get about 30 calls.

When it went through to our landline the biggest bill we had was 23 pence.

The only draw back is that we still have to pay line rental as the number gets attached somehow to an ordinary phone line which still keeps it's own number. i.e before we diverted the calls, I could dial the 0800 number or my home phone number and still get through to the same phone.

The tape we bought in a builders merchants and we needed 2 rolls to do 3 ladders and cost under a tenner.

We've got half of our WFP stuff and are tonight refitting an old shed in the garden to put it all in. Hopefully with a week it'll all be up and running. I hope.

Screwfix came up the cheapest for me.
Ive doubled up if you want a length of soilpipe with one set of endcaps (meaning you need the screw ensd fitting)
I can send it to you for free if you want to pay the postage.
Alternatively come and pick it up.

I've just gone back through our books.

We bought all the stuff from B & Q. They are a long way from the cheapest and it all cost £92 odd.

We bought from there for convenience and because we could get it all sorted in one day without having to be in for delivery.

Im in alton in Hampshire. H20 if its too far to collect anyone can come and pick it up.
Alternatively i think screw fix charged about £40 for the lot and this includes the hasp and staple lock and padlock !free postage as well

Just sprayed mine as well after looking at  rosskesava's beast of vehicle.

Prehaps this deserves a post on its own but i chalenge anyone to post a picture of a more recognisable window cleaners car /van!!

Thanks for the offer but it`s a bit far im in staffordshire,but been to B&Q they do 3m soil pipe for just under £12  ;Dbut got no ends so ill go get sorted somewhere else. ;
