Leaflets, Cards or Canvassing ?
« on: January 30, 2010, 10:37:35 am »
A window cleaner once told me that the only surefire method of building a window cleaning round is to get yourself out there and knock on doors and be seen to be trusted. But apparently people HAVE gained a large round purely by posting leaflets or cards. What IS the best method ? Or is there a best method ?

use all three!canvass with leaflets and when you pick a few up hand the business cards out to the new custys.give them a few for family/friends etc and ALWAYS have some on you when your working for when someone asks for a quote etc.

Canvass for sure bud...but with all the people who are out pop a leaflet thru the door or if you really want to develop the area youre canvassing properly record the numbers of people who are out and recanvass at a later date.We have had an excellent respose doing both and although it takes a boit mnore time it does work.

Personallly i wouldnt bother with leaflets by themselves....will take much longer

Introduce a reccomendation scheme for your customers too...if they give you 3 referrals they get a FREE clean.

Your bound to close 1 in 3.
Good luck bud.Just keep at it, little and often, thats the most impoortant thing.

I put out 200 leaflets on Saturday morning ... no calls

which is what I was expecting however part 2 of plan is to follow up all with a knock and knock again if out.

next time im just going with door knock and leaflet if there out

only reason didnt do it this way around was im waiting for my corperate fleece and tshirts to get sorted

plus was curious to see response without knocking which as i suspected would be veery poor .

What i use to do was go "on the knock" and leaflet the ones that werent in. If a bloke answered the door it was generalley a no go. Try a bit of flirting if its a woman, even if shes a pig. Sometimes ide take my 6year old nephew with me and the woman would think im a family guy(which i am).
