Two herberts in one day
« on: January 28, 2010, 02:05:11 pm »
Herbert number one:

At some point last night the mains sewerage pipe in the road outside decided to block up and start regurgitating all the contents of the neighbourhoods toilets into the street including the garden of the chap who lives opposite.

He's an 83 year old fella whos windows I clean. Anyway I popped over to see him this morning to tell him I had phoned the water-baord and they were on their way. He commented on the floaters congregating on his driveway and lawn and said he'd need me and my 'power-washer' (refering to my WFP) once the drains were sorted to clean the drive of the locals turds!

Hmm....!

Herbert number two:

I got a phone call this morning and the guy introduced himself as a representative for an insurance firm specialising in offering cover to firms working with electricty  ???

I told him I was a window-cleaner and he said 'Yes, I know' so I replied with 'What do you think I might need to insure myself against in an electrical sense being that I clean windows?

He said:

'Electric ladder?'

I hung up.

'Electric ladder?'

That sounds cool, must be some new type that hasn't made it down under yet.

Does it extend by itself.  ;D

You should have told him that Jeff Brimble is the electric window cleaner. Had he bothered to google it he would have the right number

I behaved most admirably and laughed in an amused manner.

Fortunately the water boys came and sorted it all out, including the pensioners driveway , I was relieved to see  ;)
