WFP TRICKS OF TRADE
« on: June 22, 2005, 08:28:50 pm »
Ive been called on here by quite a few people, but why their calling me they are leaving others alone, but bet the wfpolers
will be trying this tommorrow ;D

Not a lot can be done when doing 1st clean to improve the finish of the clean upstairs, but I SQUEEZEYED the  down stairs windows after giveing them two light cleans, and when they were done they were perfect ;D
smiles on my face +smiles on customers face

I hadnt the guts to tell them that the upstairs may have a few spots on them still.

may try an extended pole with squeezy on the end and give them a couple of strokes from top to bottom ,certainly lessens the chances of runs and streaks.

You can see your result strait away instead of waiting for them to dry [1st clean only]

I'm thankful I'm good enough not to need to WFP my windows and then have to go over them with a squeegee ;D
Kinda defeats the object Gaza, don't you think?

Perhaps it is because I'm a little more experienced now, but I get my first time cleans up to a top standard.
Though in fairness you do sometimes come across those windows that you can't get right for love nor money >:(
I'm talking about the ones that there is no obvious explanation why they won't come good. Decent frames, good paintwork, no oxidization anywhere in sight, rubber seals in good nick, and so on, but they just don't come up well.
Now when that happens I will blade off the downstairs, but I don't do it as a matter of course even on first time cleans as I want to be sure that they come out spickity-span right from the off.......Does use a lot of water first time though :-\

never ever had a problem on first clean as long as you give a good brush and rinse the correct way ther will be no spots ,runs or streaks

i WOULD LIKE TO SAY :my cleans are very pleasing results[1st clean] but to keep the customers happier I now give them the once over with a squeezy as a matter of course.
This takes only a few minutes as I dont detail at all,if the customers can see the result down stairs they arnt going to moan about upstairs, now if it were perfect upstairs and spotty downstairs that would be a diff story.

This change over period is a major trauma to some people even though youve spent ages telling them all about the system, they still carnt get to grips with it [esspecially the old dears]

My customer satifaction is paramount, and what I say I can do I will do.

No doubt people can do a 1st class job 1st time,[but everytime ]
Im afraid I know that you carnt. So my advice was for the 1st time into wfp users , to help them to achieve confidence of using the pole and still achieve a good result 1st time.

When I first started in wfp 3 yrs ago, knowone was there to give me advice no training was available .It was more like buy now and find your own way, a very worrying time for me.

If I can stop one window cleaner from having an heart attack
[when you see the results of your 1st 1st clean] go pear shape then my advice is justified,

Dont forget this was advice given free,to help not to boast [Ican get it right 1st time etc etc]

THIS ISNT A POP AT ANYBODY ,
but Im sure they know what I mean when I say[ there for the grace of God go I.] BEEN THERE ,GOT THE TEE SHIRT etc etc.

here is my tip

left a empty barrel down the side of a old couples house

after i had done the house and moved onto the next, the guy puts the barrel next to my car, it was full of tap water, he says "ive refilled the barrel for you"

youve got to laugh
