I am pretty much all wfp and before that have 8 years experience trad (so prob should know the answer to this!) been doin bit of trad today, insides and when heating is on you can see all the semi circles and sharp diaganol lines left by squeegee, my technique is spot on never leave anything on the glass but its only when heating is on, have a house i do inside once a month and always have new rubber and it still shows up!
any ideas please??

use a spray bottle with pure water only in it

spray on water clean applicator scrub window blade off, still have problems scrum then spray pure on glass and blade off leave no fairy behind this way

thanks both, the one i do monthly notices it and has mentioned twice, as they must stay when dry, is it fairy residue ian? this has puzzled me for yonks

Fairy does leave a residue which shows up badly if there is condensation. Try GG3 (or even W5 from Lidl) and you'll notice a huge difference.

brilliant thanks, i have to do tommorow and no lidl local, what if i buy a really crap supermarket cheapest liquid and use only a little bit?

Id also suggest GG3 or GG4 depending on what water you have (hard or soft).

Where you are Andy I think you get away with soft. Right? so GG3 would do the biz.

Also are they or any others in the house smokers?

I reckon humidity can affect the effectiveness of how good a job is done trad. I used to always struggle on a house that was located under a lot of pine trees but only when there was moisture in the air (foggy, misty days or scotch misty) Otherwise it was as easy as any other but on those days a real real struggle for no apparent reason.

i too think lidls w5 is the very best . (but not the concentrated w5 ),    best is the biggerbottles ordinary w5 ,the weak thin  stuff


 it might pay you to give a quick polish with a dry scrim over the whole glass, thatll catch any  streaks and  only add 5 seconds to a window tops

Its the smoke definately Andy.

Not a great deal you can do about it. Give them a double mop and squeegee off if you want but it leaves (I think) something like a static charge on the glass which attracts the the grime.

Its the way of the world.

I used to do an old birds insides (ooer missus) and she smoked. Her son lived with her. When she was alive you'd go to clean and could see the lines where your squeegee had been on the previous visit on the inside patio doors.

Now she died and her son still has the patio doors insides done but he doesnt smoke. No lines.

I was going to ask if they smoke. They can be a nightmare  .  
 I`d tell them to stop smoking or pointing the streaks out  .
  Look what it does to fingers, teeth etc.

Don't use a dry scrim it will leave fibres on the glass, use a clean scrim but just dampen it slightly with pure water.

Try this.

GG3 or 4 depending on hard/soft water mixed with squegy off.

Go over window with applicator then blade off.

Do same again but this time make sure you give the blade a quick clean before useing again.

I had a problem with a smokers windows and found that the yellow residue was bonding to the rubber so a quick dunk in the bucket and a wipe off before blading the window the second time worked wonders.
