Had the whole of Feb back in the early 90's when it froze down to minus 24c at times. Should have seen me go when I finally got back out to work !! Hit some records then lol. Had a massive mortgage to pay and was very scared of going down the pan. So for me, about 4 and a half weeks is the worst.

Rescheduled all my work so thats it...am off until Monday 25th Jan....so let it snow, let it snow...until the 25th that is....no umming and arrghing...I'm off...the van is booked in for it's service and MOT...they can keep the thing for a week or so...it'll give me some room in the carport to do some DIY projects...

So ....where are those chocolates?

Cheers
Dave.

Yep thats right most are on 8 weekly....nothing I can do...so very little point in worrying about something I can do very little about..

I have jiggled loads of them about...and they are all advised that if this next date is not good for them they are welcome to contact us back and we'll try to arrange another date.

So if I lose a few...well so be it....I am bang on the day for the majority of the year so this proves to the customer that I am reliable but these conditions are just not normal so I have to do something different...

Just to give an example of how bad the weather here is....I have been out this afternoon putting the alteration slips through peoples doors and in 4 areas out of 4 they are holding ice skating races on the local ponds...now remember the Dutch have lots of water and ponds....and the fact that they are holding official ice skating races on them might be an indication of how cold the surface temps are here so..being a little sensible I am erring on the side of caution...I'll just have to suck it up if I get canned by some of the people.

I could wear a 10% loss, just need to get more custys in the new year.

So I'll let you know how many dump me :)....but I have 6 new quotes for this saturday so that may help out.

Cheers
Dave.

It's the longest I have experienced since 1996.

But I did manage a couple of hundred quid between Xmas and New year (despite dire warnings from Stephen "run'em off" S)  ;D and had a full good day yesterday and earned a few quid today before the snow set in.

It's a game of three halves!

fair enough pingu.u seem very rigid in your schedule and very organized to the point of needing some treatment for OCD!! ;D ;D ;Donly joking!

i prefer a more relaxed schedule.i dont clean mine down to the day except a few pre booked ones that i phone the night before.i never send letters telling them ill be late!unneccesary IMO.it just creates more work for u.i usually clean most of mine every 4-5 weeks and this is what i tell  my custys from the start.most of the time i stick to this schedule.during prolonged bad weather most will understand and care less if im 2-3 weeks late.if ur cleaning yours every 8 weeks then miss a clean then its 16 weeks since u last cleaned?too long between cleans i think.they will be filthy and probably had a go at cleaning them themselves or just got someone else!!

only my opinion! ;D ;D ;D

best wishes

Totally see your points and they are very valid...no arguments from me.

I'll have a fair idea if this winter has been a 'killer' around the end of March but I hope I have proved myself as a trust worthy and normally reliable window cleaner by my past history and if 10% decide that I am just a timewaster and not worth the trouble...I'll will just have to grin and bear it and conceed that you are indeed right.

But if I don't lose many...you'll have to adress me as:

Your most high Master of all window cleaners with whom there is no equal.

So good luck and stay safe.
Cheers
Dave.
