Us three year olds seem to have jumped on the best wave.
The longer serving guys were a bit set on their ways, and the newbs have had to feast on our leftovers.
We were lucky that the bulk of good tech came along with us, we can't claim credit for some of the great poles that have popped up just when we were ready to buy, but it's easy to see how fifteen- twenty-and ten year guys could spend hundreds and get crepe poles and be discouraged.
An example, a guy near me has been going twenty years. The inside of his van is brilliantly thought out, so i know he's not stupid and has a good business. But he has one pole a 34'hybrid thats a brick and he uses it for everything.(he does a lot of trad and employs). Very nice man and not direct comp to me, but in biz terms i wipe the floor with him.The difference is the money i have wasted on kit and the fact that i don't care.
