« on: December 29, 2009, 01:56:52 pm »
when my machine is on and gun pressed i can feel the pressure surging. it goes to full pressure and then eases and then back to full pressure. as i have had the unloader for ages do you think it may need changing?

it could be your unloader  it might be just sucking in air somewhere in the system.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

DS
Might be worth getting a decent service on your machine over the winter months, this should stop you having these niggling problems.

my unloader valve which has a built in 'by pass' valve  (back to tank) is twisted to full but when i pull trigger on lance there is water still coming out of by pass valve.  im thinking the unloader is gone as my pressure has been lost when in full bore.  im sure the by pass stopped water coming out totally when in full bore and unloader twisted to full power.

any ideas guys?

DS as Roger has said you need to get someone competant to service your kit, with the trigger open you should have no flow at all from the by pass line. I change the unloader every year as I put so many hours on it during the season, I also keep a new spare. I change the valves every year as well. Why don't you ask someone on here thats close who could service your kit ? Even take it back to Techclean

thanks bdcs. im still only learning as i dont do the maintenance myself but i would like to know how.

im going to buy a new unloader. it must be needing replacing.  i bet if i order one i could fit it myself?

surely you just unscrew old one and fit new one.

Ring tech clean and tell Jan you need a new unloader - you can buy one bare or dressed ie with everything fitted ready to fit. You will only need a pair of adjustables. If you can fit a new broom head then you will be able to fit an unloader. If I were you I'd buy one dressed and one bare, fit the dressed one and transfer all the fittings onto the bare one from your old one

just before xmas we were havin the same problem with water still coming out of the (return to barrell) part,it was the uploader, but also jan@techclean recommended changing the valves aswell

uploader 30quid and valves i think were about 19quid,...also easy enough to change,if our close to e port ile do it for you..
