Great, thermostat fan heater in van, and still frozen.
« on: December 19, 2009, 12:48:18 pm »
I thought, I better put the fan heater in the van, first time with a fan heater, had tube heater before that.

So I turned the thermostat down all the way to the frost setting, but turned it too far down, which apparently means that it's just off. Checked this morning and found out. I had a blanket on my 4040, but saw a little bit of ice in the prefilters, and hosereel and everything is frozen.

I hope this isn't a costly mistake and the 4040 isn't frozen. I think it was -4c here.  :-\  :D

I put it on now, hopefully it will thaw the ice. Worst of all, only had a tiny bit of water in the tank, which is probably frozen now. Although saying that, the backpack wasn't frozen, so it might not be too bad. I think I might have just gotten away with it. Phew.

Were now at -6,5deg at 14:00 and with these temps I do not think that frost stat type thingies will cut it...have now put a additional fan heater into the RO system cabinate ....This will continue running until we have at least 0 deg day temps...

Watch those membranes...

Cheers
Dave.

Hmm, I wonder yea. It's a 1000/2000w unit though, it heats up very well. Must put it a bit over the frost setting perhaps.

Going to NL next weekend, hope to do some iceskating on lakes etc if the weather stays that cold over there.

Whoa that's mad, just checked weather forecast over there, will be freezing for a good while longer.

If it stays like this for long they can have the elfsteden tocht. First one in ages.

Yep -13. outside night temps and normal day temps are around -5 to -7 at present...

Though it might be warmer now as it is now snowing heavily...and gusting so it looks like a blizzard... ;D ;D  I seriously doubt I will do any work this week...so that will be 8 days of no work....

Cheers
