Never had a problem with my Vivaro in 3 years either.  Which is not a reason why i'm selling it on flea bay at the moment. I just need a bigger van. If your interested Dave in a Vivaro sportive 06 plate 52000 miles, bit of cosmetic damage. I'm not that far from you(surrey). Give me a calll on 07747841511 or you can view it on ebay.

Im in the same boat about a van, but the new shape Peugeot Expert or the Citreon Dispatch are the ones i will be looking at. I have £7,000 to spent should get a good one for that money.

Yes I was looking at around £7000 cheaper if I find one I like.

I have seen a Vauxhal 05 - 60,000 on the clock for £4,500

But the reveiws for the Vivaro are hit and miss. They all say gearbox issues. Im not sure yet.

The Peugoet Partner is the odd one on your list, its much smaller then the other two - or did you mean the Pugoet Expert, same as the CIt Dispatch.

Its funny with the Vivaro, Primaster, Master thing - some have had trouble free, others its been very costly. Sounds a bit of a lottery.

The older Dispatch/Expert/Fiat Scudo were very good vans (I had a Dispatch for a time)
I have not heard of any problems with the new Dispatch/Expert or Scudo (though I think the Scudo does have a Fiats own engine as opposed to the Cit/Pug unit. I think the engine is the same as they fir to Cit/Pug cars and they are very relaible.

Dave

Is your intended new van expected to do the same as your current one or carry a bigger payload?

For example, if you are running a porty now and want to carry a rotary, CRB, along with the associated accessories that go with them, then any of the machines will fulfill your needs.

But if you are thinking that you may go for a T/M within the next 12 months, for example, or maybe auxilliary tanks for a van-mounted porty, and you want to use the same van, then you'll have a whole lot of new considerations to take on board, especially weights.

What about parking? I have a Citroen Dispatch and this will go into a multi storey cark park no problem. I don't know about the Vivaro.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

Hi Ken,

Very good point, No at the moment I have an L200 MITSUBISI DOUBLE CAB.

Superb vehicle. A little high at the rear end for portable machines. I have a truck man top so its like a van.

I need more space as the CC side of things are taking off really well. It was fine before as all we did was windows and office cleaning.

Now we need a more professional image for the CC side of things and I would like to pull up at a custys with it racked out etc.

I am having a look at a Vivaro tomorrow. Yes I will lose 1 seat but i can purchase rear seats that have a quick release and can come out as and when needed.

Ill purchase warranty as well.

At present I am not looking at a TM maybe next year as in 2011 unless I spot a bargain.

The L200 is a cracking looking "handbag on wheels" :-X  with a reputation to be envied. But I can see why you would want a lower load deck :)

It would appear the the most van you can get for your money is the Citroen Relay/Peugot Boxer/Fiat Ducato.  The current design has been around for a few years now so should be competitively priced. The entry level spec is about 1.2 tonnes, 2.2 litre 100bhp and I believe the biggest floor footprint in it's class.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

Hi Guys,

Ok I have narrowed the search to

Citreon Dispatch
Vauxhall Vivaro

Ii did look at a peugeout boxer, but was not thrilled.

I know the Vivaro has a 6 speed gear box, I looked at one over the weekend. And I think it was good and very spaceous.

Now I know a few of you have Citreon Dispatch and wondered if you could tell me how much Fuel it takes to fill up and how many miles you get on a full tank and if it is 5 speed or 6 speed. I am looking at a year 06 possibly tomorrow.

So far dispatch is winning as it already has rear seat installed (Has had a conversion)

Cheers

Another reason i wouldnt get a vivaro is they are to small if you ever want to upgrade to a truckmount and still keep your porty and rotary ect in the van to.Over the last month ive had to hire a van for about 6 days in total when my Primaster was of the road each time i got a transit even they are a lot bigger especially wider and as far as i no they dont have dodgey clutches or gearboxes.

The 2006 Dispatch will be the "older" model. Not that anything wrong with that but the newer model I think will be more spacious. Depends what you looking for. I would be looking for the turbo diesel version as opposed to the non-turbo. More get up and go and better fuel consumption with the turbo diesel.
How the older model compares with the Vivaro I dont know. If its the swb Vivaro they may be somewhere similar. The lwb Vivaro does give more laod area space. As I said, depends what you looking for.
Reliability wise - I not heard anything bad about the Dispatch, unlike the Vivaro and similar vehicles.

I would be interested why you dismiss the Pug Boxer. It is a larger vehicle with more load area after all.

Boxer was good but I like the Vauxhall interior and cabin.

I am looking at another Boxer tomorrow as they have the dispatch as well. So I may re-decide.
