Hi guys,

Just wanted to say that everyone has been so helpful and friendly I have a steempro 2000 which works great but i feel it could do better, recently my in line heater keeps tripping out.....can these be repaired as i have found it really usefull.

Should i upgrade to to a higher psi pump (currently 130psi)  and should i fit a extra vac ?

Trying to upgrade an existing machine could be fought with all sorts of problems.
As I read it the Steampro 2000 was built to 2 specs and I think you have the highest spec.
So - would a 3rd vac fit in?
Would a physically larger pump fit in?
The existing plumbing may not be able to stand the extra pressures etc of the new gear.
The switches need modifiying as well.
Too much hassle.

Sell what you got and buy a machine that will do what you want.
There are now at least four 3-vac machines on the market, and maybe a fifth very soon.
Take your time and look at them all, test them.
and dont just judge on the machine appearance - the way it is built and the components used are vitally important, and good after sales service is paramount.
Get these things wrong and you live with the unpleasant consequences for a long time, as some on the forums well know.

I'd go with Joe on the pump issue. To upgrade you would need new internal plumbing, you'd need new solution hoses and new valves on all your tools.

The vac issue isn't quite so straight forward. As Joe says, forget 3 vacs. But a local colleague has a Prochem machine (I don't know which one) He  has recently upgraded the vacs with slightly more powerful versions. It was quite easy to do but you will need to speak to Prochem about your particular machine.

The performance of your clean can be greatly improved with your existing machine of you were to step up to high quality agitation. Something like an Envirodri or Prochem TM4 will make your clean, and especially the rinse, so much easier. You'll use less water and leave the carpets drier. For me, this would take priority over an extractor and would still be used regardless of how good an extractor you were to have.

You can get a Oreck Orbiter for about £300 odd or a SEBO Duo for £200.
Both very good.

Am i on my own by thinking better the devil you know.
i have used a few extractors in my time from ninja's , comanche's and prochems, and I find then all to have had particulary good uses depending on the job,
Do you go for the machine that looks the bizz but its performance isnt up to scratch or go for the machine thats reliable but looks like something the aliens dropped as ballast  dont panic lol we dropped the scrubbin brush when we'd been in business a month

The majority of machines have very similar specs, the pumps and vacuums are pretty standard throughout, it's the aftersales service you need to be happy with. 

All machines will develep problems along the way, however, if I was to buy a machine from say a supplier in Cornwall the logistics of getting it repaired could cost me a lot of time and money.

Find a local manufacturer or distributor/service centre who are able to provide the standard of machine you are after.

The Sebo duo is very light and compact, meaning it's easy to carry. On the downside the fact that it's light means it doesn't give the carpet as good a scub as a heavier machine would do.
