I used to open the back doors and pour a kettle of hot water over the bottom of the side door in my Renault Trafic.  :)

Mine starts luverly!
I put a new battery in it at the end of the summer 'cos it struggled last winter.
Don't half smoke though on tickover, stunk the whole house out. Do deisels have a choke of some kind or a valve in the exhaust? Whatever it is mine don't seem right.  :-\

Egr valve if you have one works on exhaust emisions being put back through the intake.

Im hoping its this on my astra van thats causing it to smoke from jusnctions or labouring......

Mine also smokes to start, its annoying.

I think carbon builds up or something if you don't thrash the engine often enough, take it for a burn on the dual carriage way or motorway

Wish it was that lol, but its definately not. Well in a sence if its the egr valve its because it hads gunk and build up. But thrashing it wont do. Need to clean or replace. Just been to lazy (as usual)  ;D

Mine's only done 30,000 miles, smokes like a chimney if I push it. Must be that valve thing - or cheap Tescos fuel.

Glad I'm not the only one then!

Don't get me started on the COMBO side door issue!

Mine is totally random! sometimes opens sometimes won't. othertimes it's backwards.

Gona take the thing off and play with the insides!

Actually for you guys with the side door issue on combos it is the riser lock on the inside of the side that is the problem. It needs securing in the up position otherwise it falls and locks the door closed.

This part, well it is on mine anyway
