if the weather is that bad that is could cause a hazard then I would trad the said door glass because of safety or put down salt

No wfp all the way, I buy bags of salt from Tesco's and if I get paths or doorways wet I sprinkle salt around and I let the custy know I've done it to help prevent any possible come back

For some jobs yes, if it's still safe to do so & the water from wfp is going to cause a freezing hazard. Trad has saved my bacon at times in winter.

It might be ok for people in the south but up here (very rural where I work) it can often be -2 / -3 all day in the middle of winter!!!

There are days though when even my trad solution freezes on the glass!

I get massive bags of salt really cheap in the local farmers co-op. Its really fine stuff, something to do with calf feed if I remember right,.. but for the few days its sub-zero then its simple to sprinkle a bit under the windows before I start.

It's usually not a problem (not in SE Wales anyway), though early this year it was.  Straight after Christmas and New Year, when you're chomping at the bit to get out to work and everything freezes up on you is a pain.

Even trad was impossible some days (not just early mornings). 

Some properties were fine to work on, on one side, but round the back where things were in the shade or less exposed and everything would freeze up. 

I remember a few days where I was determined to work but just couldn't.  But its not normally like that.
