2.8 Meter Ladder
« on: November 26, 2009, 07:36:31 am »
Would a 2.8 meter ladder be sufficient to get me going to clean domestic houses - i think the ladder is 9.4ft closed and opens to about 17ft.

The reason why i'm asking is that my dad has a set in his garage and said i can have them.

Daz.

i got 3.5 triple, and wish i had gone for smaller 3 meter ones, they are bloody massive, one section nearly reaches first floor windows, and they weigh a fair bit too,2.8 should be fine for the majority of houses

we dont use mitts around here ,we take the rubbers out of the top and stick pieces of wood in which stick our 9 inch, also use spikes on the ladders

Is that better to do using wood?

the wood has always worked for a lot around here ,never seen any one with ladder mitts, the other advantage is you get a bit extra height with the ladder

the wood in these are about 7 inch sticking out if you do them to long you can chop them down after, they start off square at the top but wear away to a slope

just use them as a normal ladder, some jobs on the sill other jobs just below, great for cornering a window as the top rung is father back so it doesnt sit on the corner and rock the same

ah okay , i guess i will just use softwood ,it looks like its taken ages for it to wear  on your ladder  anyway .  my spikes are different to yours but yours look simpler and better
