OP Cleaning in the UK??
« on: November 25, 2009, 11:06:55 pm »
   Hello,

I live in the US and OP (orbital pad cleaning) cleaning is becoming very popular for commercial cleaning here. Most of us are using encapsulation cleaners as the product of choice with this method. I'm just wondering if this method is gaining in popularity in the UK as well?

The HOS machine and Vacaway products seem to be a good example of what many use,  I would include a few websites, but not sure if that is allowed in this forum.....maybe the Mods will let me know?

First off I dont have any affiliation nor do I sell any of these products. I have used Vacaway's product line for a number of years and Steve (the owner) is a super nice guy. I will post Steve's website and his competitor's site as well to be impartial. To be fair there are like 20 different companies, selling very simular products here in the US. The method uses a polyomer product applyed with a pump up sprayer (like prespray) and the a cotton or synthetic bonnett on an orbital machine is used (looks like a floor buffer, but is orbital like a car polisher vs  typical rotation floor machine. It does an awesome job, and its super fast........so it becomes very cost effective.

Ian,  thank you for allowing me to post these websites as they do a better job explaining the process with videos. I just wanted to share.

Hi Jonny

There are a few including myself that use cimex R48 machines for encap cleaning, but its slow to catch on over here, I personally love encap cleaning.

We have struggled to find an encap product to rival releasit which seems to be the product of choice over in the states, a few of us did look into importing some but it wasn't cost effective.

look forward to seeing your sites.

Cheers

Paul

  Paul,

I have many good friends that use the cimex and releasit.  Rick over at Excellent Supply is a nice guy and very knowledgeable. The reason I use Vacaway products is because Steve(the owner) does not live far away from me, and I can avoid shipping and just head over to his facility and get what I need.

The machine I use is one solid pad, and I have found the heat and friction created, combined with the chemical action does a fast effeicent job. If you would have told me 5 years ago I could get the kind of production and a quality cleaning I would have said you were nuts. This method allows me to compete and beat my competion. I dont know how long this advantage will last (before everyone uses this method for commercial) but its a great advantage for now.

I love the positive attitude of this board!!        -Jonny
