A problem that i have found
« on: November 25, 2009, 03:10:18 pm »
Ok im quite new to WFP, been doing it for only a few months now so no expert by a long shot.
Here is what i have found, when rinsing glass that sheets its a piece of cake and rinsing is a matter of just a few seconds.
But when on the glass that beads i find myself rinsing much much slower and bring the brush down a lot slower and go from side to side a lot more.
Im finding the glass that beads takes a hell of a lot more time.
Is there a solution to this problem?

no there isnt IMO. however it is likely that you dont need to spend quite as long rinsing as you may do, Having trained many people to use wfp i have come to realise that the real skill is to know when enough is enough on both scrubbing and rinsing, if you know what i mean.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

depending on the way it beads on the window i may give it another rinse down to be sure but other than that i treat it like a normal window, never had any complaints yet.

Wot i do is rinse them and if i am not sure that i have rinsed them properly i get the ladders off my robin reliant and then check the windows. If they still need a bit more rinsing i do them again.Mind you i am finding this very slow so may try some new techniques soon....hope you have more luck than me...

Now Dan, if you had some very strong springs attached to your heels, you could rinse then bounce up to see the result and rinse again if necessary.  Save all that lugging the ladders off your plastic pig.

Perfectly sheeting glass can cause problems too, it can kid you into rinsing too fast.
What I have found is that you can be bring the brush down faster than the water is getting away. The safest way is to rinse from the top and let the water run down on it's own.
Next time you do a perfectly sheeting pane, watch it from an angle and you will see that the water continues running for quite some time after you stop the flow, and I mean running Ali the way from the top of the pane.
It's as if the sheet of water is quite thick.
Try this, clean your van screen, mine sheets perfectly. Now try driving for half a mile without using your wipers. You will be surprised.
That film-of water  can be thick enough to hide dirt, especially the remains of bird muck.
It's still there when the glass is dry though.
