High PPM

I forgot to check the TDS of my water last week.

When I did remember to check, it was 148ppm. I thought oh fook, I'd just done twenty odd houses, what a waste of time.

Anyhow, I went round every house and checked all the windows - they were spotless!

How's that work then?

im guessing the rain has helped with that and prob cuz you have kept them clean from previous cleans.

did you do any first cleans with that water? im guessing not?

And Dave, I thought that at first but I have 2 different TDS meters and they both read the same.

Its also puzzled me that my tap water before DI is only 075ppm, yet 148ppm after.

That doesn't make sense.  You haven't upset any local wc's, have you?  I reckon someone's P'd in your tank ;D

i cleaned for a while with TDS over 050 and no-one complained

TDS output can go above input with a DI vessel, your resin is spent & full of crap which it can't hold onto anymore thus water is coming out dirtier than it's going in! ;)

What resin are you using?
Are you using 1 vessel or 2?

Normally use Tulison but this time round used Purolite.

Using 1 vessel.

Thought so. This is the problem with purolite, it doesn't last as long anyway but when it does start to go off the tds shoots up in no time!
With dowex & tulsion, once it starts to go off it does so very slowly & gives you plenty of warning. Once mine hits 001 ppm, it's usually 1 to 2 weeks before I have to change it.

If you are DI only I would add a second DI vessel & make your resin last much longer. ;)

I've always said it & I keep getting proved correct- purolite is crap!!!!
