Not including the hardware like van poles etc, how much would you both pay and expect to be paid for an established round.

While some say it's not woth anything my personal opinion is that you either sell or buy a recomendation which can be worth £100's per year per customer.

hard to say as can be a lot of variations but i think if its good quality and close knit thats been going for a while it hikes the price up, as an idea i have bought rounds from between 1 monthly clean - 5 monthly cleans, although i think some areas may be higher

I don't know why not, It just never has. Nobody has ever asked me about selling my round and nobody has ever offered to sell me work in all the years that I have been doing it.

I have heard about people trying to sell their rounds and getting no takers and I have picked up work from customers who have told me their old window cleaner tried to find someone to take over from him and couldn't.

Even in the present financial climate its still pretty easy here to build up a round from scratch without having to pay out. I am acting as an "adviser"for my friend's son who was made redundant and is canvassing and leafletting like mad at the moment and the work is coming in quite nicely. At £15 for a three bed semi (the going rate round here) he only has to do four houses a day to equal what he was getting in his previous job.

i was looking on roundsforsale and was shocked that rounds are going for near 8 times these days some even more. Maybe it will start to be more worthwhile to get canvassers in.
 Why is it they are worth so much more now than last year? I saw 1 round  for 250.000 which bought in 12.000 a month which is near x20 cleans. On a good note its good to see our hard work and graft are now worth a descent amount

there really aren't any other types of business out there that you can buy for 3x monthly turnover.  Most businesses sell for approx 1.5x yearly turnover depending on profitability, potential etc.

I'd reckon at least 6 x monthly.
