And has anyone been told by HSE not to use power drills without wearing eye protection first?
I've never even seen anyone from HSE, not in real life, they're a relatively tiny government department, apart from the boss man of HSE, on Panarama when they did that HSE documentary about ladder use, and he said ladders are not banned, but window cleaners should consider alternative methods first.

No, and i dont think they ever will as all self employed window cleaners are exempt from the lone workers rule, so as long as ladder secured they would be ok, unless operating with employees yes it true. and the other reason being when do you ever see a h/s inspector.
For the record we are wfp so not a moaning trad fan

In Cambridge today, I saw a w/c doing the third floor on a set of flats from a ladder !!!
Even the 2 guys with me, noticed how dangerous it looked !!
